About Professor Dr. Mahbub H Khan

 

 

Professor Dr. Mahbub H Khan is a highly respected specialist in Liver and Gastroenterology in Bangladesh. He has completed his MBBS with the highest-ranking result and was awarded the Leo Gold Medal for securing the first position in the third professional examination among the students of Sir Salimullah, Mymensing, and Sher-E-Bangla Medical colleges of Bangladesh.

Professor Dr. Mahbub H Khan has completed a Fellow of College of Physicians and Surgeons (FCPS) in medicine and Gastroenterology from 1980-1983. He also completed his Diploma and fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology from the University of Vienna in 1984. Afterward, he worked as a Senior Resident in Medicine and ICU at Buraydah Central Hospital, Al Gassim, Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Mahbub H Khan has published research papers on “Hepatology” and “American Journal of Gastroenterology” in some renowned international medical journals. His most famous research paper, “relationship between serum albumin level and risk of mortality and liver transplant in chronic hepatitis C patients,” was published in at least 11 texts and guidebooks on liver diseases, including those from the UK, USA, Australia, France, and Germany.

Since 2001, he has served as an Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, and Professor of Gastroenterology at various medical colleges in Bangladesh. Currently, he practices his expertise as a Senior Consultant of Liver disease and Gastroenterology at Gastro Liver Hospital, Dhaka, Bangladesh since February 2015. He also provides medical services at Medinova Medical Services Consultation-2.
