Doctor Biography

Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Chowdhury, an esteemed ophthalmologist, graduated from Dhaka Medical College and further specialized in Ophthalmology from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1991. He honed his skills in Phaco Surgery at Rahgudeep Eye Clinic, Ahmadabad and LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, India, and is credited with introducing this technique in Bangladesh.

He also established the non-profit Bangladesh Eye Trust Hospital for the underprivileged and initiated post-graduate fellowship programs in various ophthalmology sub-specialties.


In his hometown of Narsingdi, he founded the Abdul Hai Chowdhury Eye Hospital and Sufia Chowdhury High School. His contributions extend to the establishment of Bangladesh Specialized Hospital in Dhaka, aimed at elevating health services to international standards. Dr. Chowdhury’s numerous publications and presentations have been recognized at national and international forums.
